Past COUNCILOR 2006-2007: Marla Conti Marla Conti has a Master of Arts degree in History and is in the process of completing her Master of Arts degree in Geography. She is currently an Independent Geography and History Instructor. |

COUNCILOR: Greg Lee Gregory Lee's Educational/Academic Background includes: a BA in Geography (minor in Anthrpology/ Archaeology), University of Arizona, 1969; an MA in Geography (minor in Astrogeology), University of North Dakota, 1971; Post-graduate research in Geography, specializing in Applied Remote Sensing of the Environment, Rutgers University, 1971-1973; a Hawaii State Life-time Adult Education Credential; and California State Life-time Community Credentials in Earth Sciences and Developmental Education. He is an Honorary Professor at Qufu Normal University-Rizhao Branch, Shandong Prov., P.R. China and a visiting Professor and Honorary Board Member, Aurora College, Shanghai, P.R. China. He has served as LAGS president for three terms and led several educational travel programs for the Los Angeles Geographical Society and organized/conducted 2 volunteer environmental education project trips in northern Thailand. His private sector professional work includes approximately 12 years of applied Earth Science and Environmental consulting with firms such as Dames & Moore, Getty Oil Company (International Division), ERTEC-Western,as well as owned and operated a cartographic company. The work involved applied remote sensing, air photo interpretation, field surveys, mapping, and data management in the area of applied earth science. He has also taught various levels ranging from secondary to college and university/adult education for more than 24 years. He is currently a full professor at Pasadena City College and conducts community-based education projects in the Exposition neighborhood of Los Angeles and has lead several educational travel programs for the Los Angeles Geographical Society (e.g. Maui, China, Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia), and organize volunteer environmental education projects in northern Thailand. |

COUNCILOR and 2004 Past President: Mary Ehrenthal Prichard Mary Prichard has been an active member of the LAGS for over a decade. She began volunteering as a student councilor and then took on the responsibilities of Councilor, Secretary and President. Her academic background includes a BA & MA in Geography from California State University at Los Angeles (CSULA).
She is currently employed with the Master Planning and Demographics Unit of the Los Angeles Unified School District. She has taught part-time at CSULA and community colleges in the L.A. County area.

COUNCILOR: Jeff Marotta Jeff
Marotta graduated in 2005 with a BA in geography from California State
University, Long Beach. World regions, travel, and exotic food are his
main interests. Currently, he is honing his computer mapping skills while
working as an intern for a GIS firm. Active in the geography community,
Jeff is a member and regular attendee to the California Geographical
Society and CSULB Geography Student Association meetings. He has been a
member of the LAGS since 2001 and was awarded the Lantis merit scholarship
May 2004. |
